Technical Engineering Manager
Description
You Are:
As a Technical Engineering Manager, you will leverage your strengths in software engineering and implementation to deliver outcomes. You will serve as the senior engineer and technical lead of your team. While you will have hands-on development tasks, your success is measured by what the team delivers, not by your individual output. You will work directly with the client, product, and QA teams to steer solutions and provide thought leadership on product development, architecture, and delivery practices.
The Work:
- Lead a team of engineers in designing, building, and delivering high-quality software, staying hands-on in code, design reviews, and pairing where it adds the most value
- Own technical direction: shape architecture, set engineering standards, and make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, quality, and scalability
- Partner with the client, product, and QA teams to refine requirements, clarify scope, and align on solutions and priorities
- Plan and forecast delivery, remove blockers, and communicate status, risks, and progress transparently to stakeholders
- Coach, mentor, and grow engineers through regular feedback, career development, and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
- Champion quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and close collaboration with QA
- Apply AI agents and workflows, both in the solutions we build and in how the team works, to improve productivity and outcomes
- Act as a trusted advisor, bringing a point of view on emerging technologies and product development best practices
Here's What You Need:
- A strong software engineering background with proven experience as a tech lead or engineering manager
- Front-end experience with Angular
- Back-end experience with Java and Spring
- Experience designing and delivering serverless solutions
- Hands-on experience with AI agents and agentic workflows, and sound judgment on where they add real value
- Team leadership: setting direction, building trust, giving candid feedback, and driving accountability
- Excellent communication skills with clients and cross-functional partners, both technical and non-technical
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward outcomes over activity
The Extras:
- US Citizenship
- The ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance
