Technical Sales Specialist - South Africa

The ISG Technical Specialist serves as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers, partners, and sales teams design and validate infrastructure solutions across servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and software-defined technologies. This role combines deep technical expertise with customer-facing engagement to support data center modernization, cloud, AI/ML, and edge computing initiatives. The ideal candidate is a technically strong pre-sales professional who can translate business requirements into scalable architecture designs and deliver compelling technical presentations and demonstrations. Travel and hybrid work expectations can be added based on local hiring requirements.

What You Will Do:

• Provide technical pre-sales support for Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group offerings, including ThinkSystem and ThinkAgile solutions.
• Design infrastructure architectures that align with customer business objectives and workload requirements.
• Lead discovery workshops, technical presentations, and solution demonstrations for customers and partners.
• Conduct proof-of-concept activities and validate solution performance and technical fit.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop winning technical strategies for customer opportunities.
• Support RFPs, technical proposals, solution sizing, and bill-of-materials creation for complex projects.
• Enable channel partners through technical training, competitive positioning guidance, and best-practice knowledge sharing.
• Represent Lenovo at industry events, webinars, workshops, and customer engagements to promote emerging technologies and innovations.

What We Look For:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, systems engineering, or infrastructure consulting.
• Strong knowledge of server, storage, networking, virtualization, and hyperconverged infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with at least one major ecosystem such as VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft, Red Hat, or comparable platforms.
• Ability to translate business and workload requirements into scalable technical architectures.
• Strong presentation, demonstration, and customer-facing communication skills.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal; additional language skills are considered an advantage depending on market requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
