Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal
Description
Veterinary Surgeon – Sole Charge Branch Practice
Clinical autonomy. Your own client base. A hospital team behind you.
Salary up to £65,000 DOE
Are you a vet who loves consulting, building relationships with clients and seeing your own patients flourish — but wants the freedom to practise independently without feeling professionally isolated?
At Parkvets, we have an opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to take ownership of the clinical day-to-day running of one of our branch practices, developing lasting client relationships and building a loyal client base, with the reassurance of a highly skilled multidisciplinary hospital team just a referral away.
This is your opportunity to make a branch your own, grow your clinical confidence and enjoy the best of both worlds: independence with exceptional support behind you.
Why this role could be right for you;
Enjoy genuine clinical autonomy
Take the lead in your consultations, develop your own client relationships and manage a varied first-opinion medical caseload. You will have the opportunity to shape how you practise, build trust with your clients and become a valued part of the local community.
Build your own client base
For a vet who enjoys medicine and consulting, this is an opportunity to develop continuity of care and long-term client relationships. You can grow with your patients, strengthen client confidence and make a real difference to the community you serve.
Work independently, never in isolation
Sole charge does not mean being left to manage everything alone. Parkvets is a large multidisciplinary hospital with experienced colleagues and certificate holders across Medicine, Imaging, Surgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Exotics and Dentistry. When a case needs further investigation, specialist input or referral, you have our established hospital team to work with and a clear pathway for transferring cases when appropriate.
Focus on the clinical work you enjoy
This role would particularly suit a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys consulting and routine medical case management. It could be an excellent fit for someone who wants to concentrate on their clinical interests without the expectation of performing a high volume of surgery.
Keep developing your skills
You will remain connected to a wider clinical team, with opportunities for discussion, collaboration and CPD. You can develop your own interests while drawing on the experience and facilities available within the hospital.
The working pattern
We are open to discussing full-time or part-time working arrangements with the right candidate. We want to find someone whose skills, interests and preferred working pattern fit the opportunity.
Who are we looking for?
You will be a confident, approachable Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys building relationships, values clinical independence and is comfortable making day-to-day clinical decisions in a sole-charge setting.
