What You’ll Do

As a Director of Operations, you will be accountable for the overall performance of operations within your Area and act as the Area Vice President’s key partner on all operational matters, translating strategic direction into clear operational plans and using data and key performance indicators to monitor results. You will oversee the delivery of security services to multiple client sites with a high, ever‑evolving client profile, ensuring service levels meet or exceed expectations, issues are resolved quickly, and corrective actions are implemented when needed. You will integrate operations with other branch functions such as HR, finance, and administration, manage shared services that support multiple branches, and exercise full profit and loss responsibility for your portfolio to drive both service quality and profitability. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, field-focused, data-driven leader and quick thinker who can pivot quickly and effectively with change, builds strong client relationships, develops high-performing teams through effective coaching and talent management, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment where priorities can shift quickly.

  • Lead Area operations to deliver high-quality customer service; regularly update the Area Vice President on performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage shared services for multiple branches (e.g., payroll, accounts receivable, HR and other support functions), coordinating with Branch Managers and Area management and resolving operational issues.
  • Ensure operations are effectively integrated with other branch functions and aligned with the AVP’s vision and strategic direction.
  • Analyze operational and financial indicators to continuously improve performance and ensure profitable operations, with full profit and loss (P&L) accountability for your portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships: conduct regular status meetings, address issues, negotiate client contracts, support new client start-ups, perform security planning and assessments, and review/update post orders.
  • Recruit, select, onboard, train, and develop high-caliber staff in collaboration with Area and Region leadership; plan and assign work, coach performance, and administer discipline when necessary.
  • Develop and manage the Area budget in partnership with the Area Vice President.
  • Maintain a positive, professional work environment and ensure staff understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Authorize expenditures for equipment, supplies, and vehicles; ensure vehicle maintenance and driver training; manage inventory of uniforms, radios, and related items; oversee payroll records and required reporting.
  • Oversee scheduling to meet client requirements while controlling labor costs; review site reports to confirm compliance with post orders and client directions.
  • Contribute to company, Region, and Area initiatives and support resolution of legal, financial, HR, and administrative issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Who You Are

An ideal candidate brings:

  • Service-first mindset with strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and clear oral and written communication.

  • 7+ years of experience in security and/or business management, including leadership in security operations.
  • Solid knowledge of security operations, service delivery, and business operations management, including human resources administration.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and leadership skills, with demonstrated initiative and a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to interpret business and financial data, manage budgets/forecasts, and develop practical solutions to improve performance.
  • Proven experience with multi-site or multi-branch operations, including full P&L responsibility, management of shared services (e.g., payroll, AR, HR), and a background in contract negotiation, client relationship management, and security program design (assessments, planning, and post orders).
