Sales Manager
Description
At Liberis, our mission is to empower small and medium-sized businesses by removing finance as a friction to growth, delivering contextual, embedded financial solutions to support merchants at every stage of their business lifecycle.
The role
We’re looking for an energetic and commercially driven Sales Manager to play a leading role in the development of our Sales team and the commercial performance of the business. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on coaching your team to convert leads into closed business, owning pipeline health and CRM discipline, and working closely with stakeholders to build a consistent and scalable sale operation.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, you’ll be at the centre of our go-to-market execution — driving performance across the full funnel and a key voice in shaping how the sales team operates day-to-day.
What you’ll be doing
Team Coaching & Development
- Coach, develop and performance-manage a team of Sales Executives, helping each individual convert more effectively at every stage of the funnel
- Conduct regular call reviews and pipeline review sessions, using structured frameworks to identify strengths and areas for development
- Deliver impactful training sessions — both individually and to the wider team — on sales methodology, messaging, and process
- Run effective 1-2-1s and monthly performance reviews, setting clear goals and holding team members accountable through tailored development plans
- Bring consistent energy and direction to the team, motivating Sales Executives during both strong and challenging periods
- Lead onboarding for new Sales Executives, ensuring they ramp quickly and embed the right habits and processes from day one
Pipeline & Performance Management
- Own the health of the pipeline — running weekly reviews to track deal progression, identify risks, and ensure consistent execution of the contact strategy
- A hands-on approach to supporting deal progression, especially with larger ticket deals
- Champion CRM hygiene across the team, ensuring data accuracy, deal stage discipline, and adherence to CRM processes
- Identify and lead improvements to workflows and reporting to give greater visibility of funnel performance and conversion rates
- Analyse performance data across the funnel to surface trends, spot gaps, and drive targeted coaching or process improvements
- Set clear activity and pipeline metrics for the team, ensuring consistent tracking and data-driven decision-making
- Provide regular feedback and insights to the business on factors influencing performance
- Ensure Sales Executives are equipped to work leads effectively, with the right scripts, objection handling techniques and follow-up cadences
- Raise the bar of performance in the team, addressing swiftly where performance falls below expected standards
Reporting & Leadership Support
- Put together clear team updates and performance summaries — covering pipeline health, conversion rates, campaign performance and key project progress
- Present insights and team updates confidently, whether in team meetings or to the Head of Sales and senior leadership team
- Support the Head of Sales with the day-to-day running of the team, acting as a trusted deputy capable of representing sales to the wider business
- Proactively surface ideas for process improvements, team initiatives, and strategic projects that will strengthen commercial outcomes
What we think you’ll need
- A natural people leader who is energised by developing others and takes pride in the growth of their team
- Commercially sharp — you understand the full sales funnel, know how to spot conversion problems, and can translate data into practical actions
- Strong pipeline management skills, with hands-on experience driving CRM discipline and process adherence within a sales team
- An excellent communicator — clear and compelling in 1-2-1s, team sessions, and through written updates
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing focus on what matters most
- High standards and a continuous improvement mindset — you push yourself and your team to keep getting better
- A feedback culture champion — you seek out feedback, act on it quickly, and create an environment where others do the same
- Hybrid based out of our London office, with regular weekly in-person collaboration expected
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, particularly around pipeline reporting and workflow configuration
- Experience in Financial Services sales or a fintech environment
