Senior Supervisor, Anton - 3rd Shift
Posted
Description
The Senior Supervisor is the on-shift owner responsible for multiple operational areas/rooms. This role coordinates cross-area execution of the daily production plan, aligns labor allocation and work sequence across assigned areas, and ensures adherence to food safety, workplace safety, and quality standards. The Senior Supervisor directs incident escalation and resolution, while coaching and supporting Supervisors and crew/team leaders to drive performance and accountability. The role also ensures accurate recordkeeping, timekeeping, and completion of performance reviews for direct reports, including Supervisors and assigned hourly staff.
- Convert the daily plan into shift-level labor/line assignments and sequencing across multiple rooms; approve cross-room rebalancing to protect throughput and changeover timing.
- Lead start-of-shift and tier huddles; communicate targets, risks, and countermeasures; verify hour-by-hour boards are maintained by area supervisors.
- Monitor attainment at the shift level; direct recovery plans when performance slips, including resequencing and resource reallocation between rooms.
- Coach and develop Supervisor, Crew Leads, and Team Leads; verify training and certification matrices are current.
- Deliver PDRs and administer corrective actions/PIAs in partnership with HR/ER; ensure documentation accuracy and confidentiality.
- Enforce safety/GMP/allergen controls; ensure holds/rejects and line clearance are executed and documented correctly.
- Inspect materials/products/equipment; arrange repairs or escalate to Maintenance; confirm effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Own the shift escalation chain: ensure incidents are contained immediately by area leaders, assign investigation ownership (typically Supervisor authoring for their room), and verify closure of root cause and countermeasures across the shift.
- Confer with other supervisors/managers to coordinate inter-department work; remove systemic constraints; champion continuous improvement and waste reduction.
- Decides (Shift-level): Cross-room labor alignment and resequencing to meet the shift plan; prioritization of start-ups/changeovers across rooms; shift-wide recovery plans and hour-by-hour triage.
- Directs & Verifies: Incident investigations authored by Supervisor 1; confirms root cause and countermeasures close on time; quality/safety containment and release decisions per policy.
- Recommends to Dept Manager/Lead Supervisor: Overtime adds/cuts; major plan changes; significant component substitutions; staffing requisitions.
- Escalates Immediately: Serious safety incidents or food safety risks; recurring out-of-spec issues; critical equipment/material failures; staffing gaps that jeopardize shift attainment.
