DevOps/SRE Engineer (Data Services Focus)

• Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, upgrade, and maintain platform components, including capacity planning.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents, identify root causes, and improve reliability and performance.
  • Develop automation tools and improve monitoring, runbooks, change validation, and recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams on releases, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Qualifications
  • Experience developing or operating production systems, with the ability to independently deliver work and troubleshoot problems. Three or more years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals, including networking, permissions, processes, storage, and service operation.
  • Practical programming or automation experience with at least one language, such as Python, Bash, Go, or Java.
  • Ability to clearly explain personal technical contributions, incident investigations, and how results were validated.
  • Solid hands-on experience in at least one of these areas:
    • Infrastructure / Bare Metal: Linux administration, server provisioning, OS hardening, patching, hardware troubleshooting, and capacity planning
    • Virtualization: QEMU/KVM, hypervisor administration, VM lifecycle management, virtual networking, and resource planning
    • Network: Network planning, routing, DNS, firewalls, service connectivity, and network troubleshooting
    • Kubernetes / Rancher: Cluster provisioning, upgrades, networking, service exposure, access control, and production troubleshooting
    • Ceph Platform: Rook-Ceph, object storage/S3, storage lifecycle management, performance, recovery, and multisite replication
    • Data Service Platform: PostgreSQL, Valkey/Redis, Elasticsearch, high availability, replication, backup, and recovery
    • Monitoring & Alerting: Metrics, logs, dashboards, alerting, observability platforms, and performance analysis
    • CI/CD and Automation: Build and deployment pipelines, configuration management, infrastructure as code, release engineering, and operational automation
    • Security Operations: Certificate and secrets management, vulnerability remediation, security controls, incident response, and audit evidence
    • Development / Platform Engineering: Platform software, infrastructure tooling, system integrations, bug fixes, and automated testing

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
